The harbour of Hvar is certainly the most popular anchorage on the island. Around 100 m of town’s waterfront is equipped with moorings, electricity and water facilities. The berth is charged. The harbour is well protected from the northern wind, but the southern and north-western winds may create waves and billowing sea, so it is necessary to relocate your boat in the nearby marina of the Palmižana cove on the Pakleni islands on such weather. Stormy southern wind may create a strong sea currents heading west with the speed of 2.0 knots that could make the mooring manoeuvres difficult.
There is the possibility of mooring to the custom-house jetty or in the western part of the harbour, but those lack electricity and water facilities.
